Per Källblad co-founded Beactica in 2006 and has steered the company through nearly two decades of deliberate evolution — from a technology-focused contract research organization, through a collaborative discovery model with pharma partners, to its current form as a focused biotech with a proprietary pipeline and a clear near-term path to the clinic. Along the way, he has established Beactica as a recognized leader in molecular interaction-based drug discovery, with particular depth in allosteric modulators, protein–protein interaction inhibitors, and targeted protein degraders — modalities that address target classes historically considered undruggable.
Under Per's leadership, Beactica has secured substantial private equity financing, won multiple highly competitive non-dilutive grants at both European and national levels, and generated consistent revenues through research collaborations and partnerships with leading pharmaceutical companies. He has structured and managed alliances across the full spectrum from early target engagement through to asset out-licensing, and has developed a working command of regulatory and development strategy that informs how Beactica positions assets for value-creating transactions.
Per brings rare founder-to-clinic continuity to the CEO role. Earlier in his career, he was a founding scientist at De Novo Pharmaceuticals, a University of Cambridge spin-out pioneering structure-based drug design, and subsequently worked on preclinical programs at Medivir AB spanning both internal and partnered projects. He holds a Ph.D. in Drug Design from the University of Cambridge.
